Role overview
We are looking for a Software Field Applications Engineer to support customer software integration for Aeva’s 4D LiDAR products. This is a customer-facing role focused on helping partners successfully deploy and use Aeva software interfaces, tools, and example applications. You will work closely with customers to bring up sensors, integrate software into their systems, troubleshoot issues, and develop custom examples or solutions when needed.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on software work, customer interaction, and solving practical integration problems across robotics, perception, and automotive systems.
Responsibilities
What you have
- BS in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of prior hands-on coding experience in C++ and/or Python.
- Comfortable using AI coding tools effectively to accelerate development, debugging, and prototyping in C++ and Python.
- Experience working in Linux-based development environments.
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP configuration, ports, and common connectivity/debugging workflows.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and internal teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with robotics or autonomous vehicle software frameworks such as ROS/ROS2.
- Experience working with LiDAR, cameras, radar, or related sensing systems.
