Your Route Into ServiceNow Development

At Via Logic, we believe great technology should make complex work simpler, faster, and more reliable. We’re looking for a Mid-Level ServiceNow Developer who enjoys building scalable solutions, solving technical challenges, and collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams.

In this role, you’ll support the design, development, and implementation of solutions across the ServiceNow platform, including custom and scoped applications, integrations, workflow automation, Service Catalog capabilities, and locally developed applications.

You’ll work closely with ServiceNow architects, developers, citizen developers, analysts, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure, maintainable technical solutions. You’ll also support CI/CD movements between environments, participate in code reviews and demonstrations, troubleshoot complex issues, and help ensure development follows ServiceNow and enterprise best practices.

This role provides the opportunity to contribute directly to mission-critical systems supporting the Department of Homeland Security while continuing to deepen your ServiceNow expertise across application development, integrations, automation, and platform delivery.

Your Mission Today

Your Responsibilities:

  • ServiceNow Development: Design, develop, configure, and deploy custom applications and solutions within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Scoped Applications & Workflow Automation: Create and configure scoped applications, Service Catalog items, Flow Designer workflows, and other platform-based solutions that support client needs.
  • Custom Application Development: Support the design and development of locally developed applications (LDAs) using ServiceNow development best practices.
  • Integrations: Lead and support integrations between ServiceNow and external systems, ensuring reliable data exchange and platform functionality.
  • CI/CD & Deployment: Support the movement of ServiceNow components, collections, and deployable assets through CI/CD pipelines and across development environments.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with ServiceNow architects, developers, analysts, and stakeholders to map business requirements and services to appropriate ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Code Reviews & Demonstrations: Participate in code reviews, proofs of concept, technical discussions, and product demonstrations.
  • Troubleshooting & Configuration: Perform troubleshooting, coding, scripting, and ServiceNow configuration activities of moderate to high complexity.
  • Citizen Developer Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to citizen developers and other team members working within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
  • Platform Administration: Support the administration, deployment, and management of USCIS systems and PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS platforms as required using authorized privileged access.

What Helps Explorers Succeed Here

Your Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience developing solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Certification: At least one current ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certification.
  • ServiceNow Development: Hands-on experience designing, developing, configuring, and deploying ServiceNow applications and platform solutions.
  • Integrations: Experience developing and supporting ServiceNow integrations with external systems.
  • ITSM & Scoped Applications: Experience working with ServiceNow ITSM capabilities and scoped application development.
  • CI/CD: Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes within a ServiceNow environment.
  • Technical Development: Strong scripting and development capabilities, including JavaScript and related ServiceNow development technologies.
  • Communication: Strong client-facing communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within Agile, cross-functional development teams.

Types of Badges and Certifications:

  • Experience working with the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Experience developing custom ServiceNow applications.
  • Familiarity with federal government or DHS environments.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevSecOps delivery environments.
  • Current Public Trust clearance or previous experience successfully completing a federal background investigation.

Why Explorers Stay

  • Remote-first flexibility within the U.S.
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Collaborative and supportive team culture focused on growth and continuous learning.
  • Opportunities to expand into broader engineering and DevSecOps ownership areas.
  • Meaningful work supporting mission-driven programs with real-world impact.
