The full posting

As Technical Producers at Riot, we lead passionate technical teams to create products and experiences that achieve maximum developer, operator, and player value. We guide development, clear blockers, and push projects across the finish line while ensuring our teams are sustainable and foster a collaborative environment.

As a Sr. Principal Technical Producer at this level on the DevCon team, you will apply our production framework and operating system across defined capability areas within Code, Build, and Release. You will contribute to the operational strategy for our organization, the talent strategy for the production group, and the operating model that DevCon teams run on.

You will report to the DevCon lead for Technical Production.

Responsibilities:

  • Translating approved portfolio direction into executable technical roadmaps, reallocating resources and shifting organizational priorities to maximize strategic value.
  • Directly shape department, BU, or region strategy through team and initiative leadership, and drive operational strategy within your organization.
  • Drive production processes for the BU, working with BU leadership to build, adopt, and implement them within teams.
  • Create alignment between organizations working toward common or complementary goals, and build systems that proactively surface conflict and route it to resolution.
  • Lead significant change across multiple teams, processes, and efforts where the change has major effects on product, operations, or organization.
  • Support recruiting and hiring across the BU as a trusted interviewer, contribute to interview kits and TA efforts, and mentor senior-level producers and leaders in other disciplines.
  • Represent organizational delivery health, investment posture, and risk to executive stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 10+years of experience in technical production, technical program management, or engineering leadership.
  • Demonstrated ownership of operational strategy for an organization, with decisions of large to critical business impact.
  • Broad understanding of many relevant technical domains and how they interact, with the ability to drive difficult technical decisions among leaders with opposing views.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Agile certifications from Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org, PMI, or ICAgile
  • Advanced Atlassian Power User (Jira Product Discovery, Jira Space Administration, Jira Plans) or Atlassian certifications.
  • 4+ years managing people and experience growing teams and direct reports to achieve organizational goals.
  • Experience building or supporting operational platforms, internal developer tooling, or cloud-based services.
  • Experience with SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or incident response organizations.
  • Experience delivering software for globally scaled, highly available systems.
  • Experience building business cases and funding asks for technical investment.
  • Experience owning portfolio level investment tradeoffs and funding cases.
  • Experience with multi-year planning horizons and cross-portfolio dependency management.

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work. Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position!

Our Perks:

Riot focuses on work/life balance, shown by our open paid time off policy and other perks such as flexible work schedules. We offer medical, dental, and life insurance, parental leave for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and children, and a 401k with company match. Check out our benefits pages for more information.

At Riot Games, we put players first. That mission drives every decision in our quest to create games and experiences that make it better to be a player. Whether you’re working directly on a new player-facing experience or you’re supporting the company as a whole, everyone at Riot is part of our mission. And just like in our games, we’re better when we work together. Our goal is to create collaborative teams where you are empowered to bring your unique perspective everyday. If that sounds like the kind of place you want to work, we’re looking forward to your application.
