Barbaricum is seeking a Journeyman Data Analyst to assess, process, and support data collection while providing high-impact analytical decision-support and strategic analysis of assessment data. This role directly supports the execution of policies, plans, and strategies for the anticipated Headquarters Air Force Mission Assurance (MA) Program. The USAF MA program identifies, assesses, prioritizes, and oversees risk management actions for Department of War (DoW) and USAF critical assets in accordance with DoDD 3020.40 and DODI 3020.45.

    Responsibilities

    • Interface directly with senior leaders and capability providers to deliver quantitative, data-driven clarity on Mission Assurance (MA) risks and strategic operational readiness.
    • Formulate rigorous tasking packages and official staffing materials backed by predictive analytics to justify resource allocations across military command channels.
    • Design and deploy decision-support products, automated data workflows, and monitoring views inside secure enterprise platforms like Palantir Foundry and Advana.
    • Model and mathematically forecast multiple Courses of Action (COAs) to provide commanders with clear success probabilities and asset degradation metrics.
    • Construct algorithmic ROI decision models to evaluate the financial and operational trade-offs of proposed security enhancements and infrastructure upgrades.
    • Quantify the "cost of inaction" by mapping threat probabilities against asset replacement costs and potential mission failure impacts.
    • Synthesize complex data outputs into executive-level visual dashboards, briefs, and information papers tailored for general officer consumption.
    • Conduct data-driven risk-mitigation analysis to identify critical structural vulnerabilities and single points of failure across strategic military networks.
    • Leverage AI/ML methodologies to extract actionable risk indicators from unstructured datasets and historical assessment documentation.
    • Bridge the gap between capability providers and data engineers to ensure that pipeline data architecture accurately maps to real-world mission capabilities.

    Qualifications

    • Clearance: Active DoD TS Clearance required.
    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree Preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience with DoW, specifically dealing with critical infrastructure, readiness, or operations.
    • Certifications: Palantir AI Certification preferred.
    • Passport & Travel: Valid US passport; ability to travel CONUS or OCONUS approximately 25% of the time.
    • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills with people at all levels. Proven ability to coordinate with inter-agency and inter-service partners.
    • Core Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, deep understanding of risk management principles/methodologies, and a proven ability to take initiative in a team environment to meet tight timelines.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Staff Experience: Experience working on large G, J, or A staffs. Candidates with experience working at MAJCOMs or NAFs in requirements or plans and programs are highly desired.
    • Domain Expertise: Relevant experience in a Mission Assurance related discipline including Force Protection, Civil Engineering, Emergency Management, Intelligence, Communications, Airfield Operations, or Cybersecurity.
    • Systems Familiarity: Prior experience with Mission Assurance databases, Mission Assurance Risk Management System (MARMS) applications, or familiarity with Maven, Envision, and Palantir Foundry Platforms.

    EEO Commitment

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, ethnicity, age, national origin, citizenship, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, family structure, marital status, ancestry, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
