Sr. AI Engineer

At Tapcart, we believe every brand needs a direct relationship with their customers - one they actually own.

We are the mobile commerce engine that powers shopping for Shopify's fastest-growing brands. $15B+ in revenue processed. 200M+ shoppers worldwide. Brands like Princess Polly, Béis, Forever 21, and Young LA rely on us to power a large portion of their revenue.

We're a lean team with minimal management and big autonomy. Everyone here builds and code is core to what we do - engineers, product, leadership. We use our own platform, we talk to merchants daily, and we ship constantly. Backed by Shopify, Silver Lake and other top VCs. Profitable and growing

If you want a place where you own real outcomes, not just tickets, you'll fit in.

Why you should join Tapcart, when you have a sea of other options?

• You want to work with colleagues who have high standards and who love building beautiful, performant software
• You prefer the dopamine of working on software that will get into hundreds of millions of users' hands, vs working on enterprise, forward-deployed software

We deeply care about using AI in our work. Don't proceed with applying if:

• You don't love agents / don't use them daily
• You don't value craft and cannot speak to software that inspires you

What you’ll be working on at Tapcart

• Architect and ship core product that feels durable, fast and clean. Work across multiple stacks to deliver impact.
• Design our proactive AI agent orchestration layers used by thousands of high growth brands
• Prototype new interaction patterns for human-agent collaboration
• Raise our bar for engineering craft, help with recruiting, and hold the line on quality
• Dogfood the platform and our apps every day :)

You'll be a true owner, from prototype to production, and work side‑by‑side with the CEO, design, and key stakeholders, all while staying close to merchants to deliver value early and iterate quickly.
