Senior Engineering Manager leading technical direction for AIM-V (AIM Virtualization) at Snowflake, covering its runtime, tools and utilities, and deployment. The role drives an AI-based development process from requirements through design, validation, and release, and works with product managers, solution architects, and field engineering. The posting asks for SQL or functional programming experience and database internals knowledge (query parsing, optimization, execution).
At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.
With AIM Virtualization we’re redefining interoperability for the modern data stack. Our platform makes existing applications instantly work on Snowflake by bringing the core tenets of virtualization to the database. The runtime empowers customers to move to Snowflake without changing SQL or APIs. As a result, AIM Virtualization makes time-consuming migrations obsolete.
As a leader in this team you get to shape how we tackle some of the most intricate database implementation challenges all while pioneering an industry-first framework which customers consistently describe as “too good to be true”.
If you’re looking to empower a high-performance team and accelerate the effective use of AI across the organization, this is the challenge for you. We are looking for an AI-first leader who is not afraid to take on hard and unusual tasks.
As an Engineering Manager, you'll shape the development processes for one of Snowflake's most strategic new products.
Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
