RTK - Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. This position is with a small, established team based in the DFW area, offering a collaborative and relaxed work environment that fosters innovation. The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s Farmer's Branch, TX location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for developing and maintaining application-level software that simulates airborne radar systems and other sensors for use in a variety of training devices. The software is written in the C++ programming language on Windows and Linux platforms.
• Responsible for performing tasks related to the following areas: Software Design Software Implementation Technical Documentation Team Collaboration Customer Interaction Software Integration and Testing Task Planning and Schedule Estimating

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• 5+ years of experience in software development using C/C++
• Strong understanding of real-time application programming
• Expertise in cross-platform development (Windows & Linux)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong foundation and mathematics and physics
• Ability to work with export-controlled technology

DESIRED COMPETENCIES

• Technical Expertise:
  Knowledge of radar technology and signal processing Experience with OpenGL and graphics application programming Background in real-time, multi-processing systems Familiarity with tools for geographic data processing (e.g. KML, vector files, digital elevation models, satellite imagery)
• Developmental Tools & Practices Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira) Proficiency with configuration management tools (Preforce, Git) Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation
• Industry Experience Prior experience in training and simulation industry Willingness to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

REQUIRED EDUCATION, ELIGIBILITY AND EXPERIENCE:

• B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field
